Google+ Contact your representatives. The 535 Campaign. Coffee Party USA

Welcome to the 535 Campaign! Here's how to contact your representatives.

Please contact your two U.S. Senators and your Representative in the House of Representatives.  If they don't have a plan to fix Citizens United posted on their web pages, please send them a personalized version of this sample letter:

Dear Representative or Senator,
It has been three years since the disastrous Citizens United decision.  As a legislator, you are in a position to fix this bad decision, but I don't see anything on your web site about your plans to do so.  Will you please be a leader and post your plans on your web site?

If your representative does have a plan posted on their web site, a plan that actually will fix Citizens United, please thank them for being a leader and for doing their part.
Remember, we are asking them to post their plan on their web site.  We won’t need an eight page letter from them to know their answer - we just need to look at their web site.
Here is how to find the web sites of your 2 U.S. Senators and links to their contact forms:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Here is how to find out who your Member of the U.S. House of Representatives is and a link to his or her contact form:

http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

After you have contacted your representatives, use the "Comment" section here to let us know if and when your Representative and Senators post their plans.

Sorry for late post. Simply put, I still haven’t received any statements from my senators on this. I did attend a town hall with my Congressman Pual Tonko, and he stated in emphatic terms his support of undoing Citizens United. Staff said they would look at web posting to bring this out.

Frank, Yes, I didn’t see anything specifically about Citizens United either. Just the Disclose Act from last year. Right now I am totally fed up with both of them and Harry Reid. (Filibuster)

Linda,
I checked both Senators Boxer and Feinstein’s web pages but I didn’t see anything about fixing Citizens United. Hopefully, when they get messages from you and other Californians they will they will stand up in the choir and “sing out” their plan!
Frank

I emailed both Senators Boxer and Feinstein and thanked them for their support of the Disclose Act and also requested that they continue to work on strong legislation to counter Citizens United and to be courageous enough to place their support on there website for all to see. I feel like I am preaching to the choir though. At least on this issue.

Hi, Frank. I agree with you. My note to Senator Casey asked him to continue to demonstrate his leadership by posting his plans for 2013.

Hi Greg, Casey is also my Senator and I am glad he supports the DISCLOSE ACT but the situation we find ourselves in calls for him to do more. He and Senator Toomey should both be willing to post their plans to fix Citizens United.

Don’t forget to acknowledge and thank those elected leaders who have at least taken steps like Senator Casey has in PA to support legislation like the DISCLOSE Act of 2012. It’s still ok, of course, to ask them to post their plans for overturning Citizens United.
